Don’t Doubt. Do. or…Reality. Not Shadows.

Two quotes from ’Illusions. The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah”.

When retired it is good to adopt a few Mantras. Something to bring you around to re-focus again. Recently I’ve adopted two Mantras.

Both Mantras above from the book ‘Illusions. The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah’.

Firstly:

If you say to yourself ”I can’t do this because…….”. Then you do yourself no favours.

Secondly:

If you have the good fortune to actually wake up in the morning, then that is quite a nice gift isn’t it? So I begin to think how I can achieve stuff. And try to start positively.

It’s not about being a perfect human being. It’s about staying one step ahead in life’s game.

Doubt? Don’t Doubt. Do…….. Reality. Not Shadows.

Taken in the middle of the night when sleeplessness really rankles! Stood looking at this little scenario for about ten minutes. But in reality? Not actually looking at it at all.

  1. Great mantras. Ive always been fond of
    Yoda:
    “The greatest teacher, failure is”
“Try not, Do or Do not, there is no try”

    Isaac Asimov:
“Sometimes you leap, and sometimes someone catches you.”

    Tolkien:
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
“It’s a job that’s never started that takes the longest to finish.”

They all share a common theme and relate very well to yours I think.

    1. Huge fan of Tolkein. David Mitchell, author of Cloud Atlas, comes out with some profound thoughts too. Mantras are great for pinpoint focus in a dilemma. Or to give out positive vibes. Read an Asimov Anatomy book a very long time ago. Well parts of it. But none of his others. And not a great Star Wars knowledge expert. Like the earlier films though. The Mandalorian was brilliant. But ‘The Child’ Baby Yoda didn’t provide any Mantra material. Was extremely insightful and intelligent at such a tender age though. Cheers Danny for the feedback.
