LIGHTEN UP.

Nice to experiment with this stuff and nonsense again today. Just stayed in a groove and didn’t stray. No possible suitable for all ‘friendly listenable mix’ to be heard here. Because mixing Universal sound is still on the learning curve. Listening devices are now of infinite variety and all sound sounds different. My headphones suit this. But I have no clue as to what other hearing devices would sound like.

But the reality of this song is to reflect on how to develop anything that is being recorded. This was made up yesterday on the hoof. Sticking with the one chord base of A and repeating over and over. After finishing, immediately the thoughts of switch to E or D chords to go into another vibe was evident. Also to overlay very small parts throughout this to give a number quirky individual highlights and dynamic change. Especially instruments. So did that today. Vocals were also enhanced easily. Again, periodic interventions of lyrical one offs. Let’s see where it goes.

    1. The track you like has guitars more prominent. I recorded more guitar overlays yesterday. And this listening here with the lower quality needed to send has no real reality with all the sounds and spacing I can hear from my Beyerdynamic headphones for GarageBand listening. Why I’m saying this, is that it’s been something I have thought about for months now. I saw a song the other day that said ‘Radio Friendly Version’. So important when you have to consider what people are listening on. Technology hey!

      1. Yes, Radio-Friendly means no curse/cuss words. Radio-Ready means pro mixed. At least from what we have learned from talking with A&R people.

I listened again before falling asleep last night and noticed that (the guitar) on that first track. I normally don’t pick out the difference, so that made me smile.

      2. Thanks for the enlightenment on Radio matters. The headphones I bought for the purpose of good quality listen back gives a very clear identification as to what is individually played. There must be at least 10 separate tracks on this one. So a low quality send will cram the sound. This is going to be another big learning curve to sort out. Cheers Sheila.

      3. No Sheila. Not Tinnitus. I have the GB comparison right here in the house against WP sound. Shame really that they are so different. You and Richard upload to YouTube, so know the quality possibilities. I look forward to doing similar with YouTube and Bandcamp.

      4. Yes. You’re right Sheila. When I studied Sign Language and Deaf Studies, frequency loss was part of the course. I have a few cat repelling high frequency movement machines in the garden. My grandchildren hear the top notes and wince. My son in his mid thirties can hear it too. No other adult can.

      5. Exactly, Gray. I think our physical senses are so intriguing to study. We taste food differently, and our tastes change over time, hearing, vision, touch, etc. It has all changed for me. And I really noticed that with my eldest granddaughter on the Autism spectrum, Richard after the stroke, and my mom with the Alzheimer’s. I give thanks everyday I still have the sensations I have!

      6. Very true Sheila. I suppose, as we get older, it means we really start to witness what may well be ourselves at some point. To hope simply that we are able to carry on and thank the stars for it. Nursing patients opened my eyes to the frailties that life can bring. Not necessarily a chronic development either. Can be at the drop of a hat at times. So I suppose we have to simply go with life’s flow. And look after ourselves, and others, best we can. Cheers.

      7. Exactly, Gray. The human being is strong yet frail. As we watch the Autumn leaves fall, we see some float like a feather, and squirrels stomp on others to cause their fall. But either way they fall. And there’s an elegant simplicity to that. Life’s a dance. We may as well enjoy (IN Joy) it.
