TO GET INSPIRED, SAD, OLD SUMMERS NEEDS A CHOSEN VIBE. NOT ONLY TO CREATE A LITTLE HAVEN OF FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS REGARDING THE PEN AND PAPER CHOICES. BUT TO BEGIN A TASK REGARDING WHETHER TO CHOOSE FOUNTAIN PEN OR DIP NIB?
IMPORTANT REALLY. IT CREATES AN AMBIENCE THAT ALLOWS THE MIND TO CHOOSE AND SETTLE DOWN TO THE TASK. FOCUS UPON THE DIP NIB’S BRIEF ABILITY TO HOLD ONTO ENOUGH INK FOR MORE THAN WRITING A FEW WORDS. OR LET THE GOOD TIMES ROCK AND ROLL FLOW WITH THE LONGEVITY OF A FOUNTAIN PEN FULL OF INK.

AND TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF WRITING THE LYRICS? A BIT OF FILM DEVELOPING. USEFUL FOR SOME QUIRKY VISUAL IMAGERY ON THE CD, ETC.. .

Ah, the infamous sqwiggle dragon! Yes, and I see spirals!! Haha! On the journal and above the spectacles. I am intrigued (as usual). I love your Gratitude piece. Ah, yes. Always.
I also am drawn to the bottle if India ink, far right of the set of ink bottles.

I thought you would see the spirals. The silver one on the green book was from dozens we bought to put on top of our daughter’s rag washed bedroom wall when she was little. There were square spiral ones too I think. Is a square spiral a real spiral one though? 🤔 Both makes of ink here are dip nib compatible Sheils. So India or China ink.. You never put such inks into a fountain pen. It will completely ruin it.

Oh, good to know, Gray (about the inks). I will have dip nib one day, I feel it. I plan to start experimenting with the fountain pen soon.
I hear you about the square spirals. That might be interesting to research. I have only seen the round ones in nature (like my hair) and engravings such as at Newgrange.
I love that you put dozens of spirals on the top of your daughter’s bedroom walls when she was little.

I don’t have cool pens but I have personal rituals and routines like time of day and location, that’s super important to me.

Hello cookie. Cool pens are only soulfully cool when what they transmit on to the paper is cool too. So a simple biro can be the coolest of pens if it produces thoughtful, funny, poetic, emotional, insightful, knowledgeable, etc. results. I suppose pens that look aesthetically beautiful could be brought to put behind glass and simply there to be collected and looked at. Like a vinyl album bought, left in its cellophane wrapper and therefore never played. Actually cookie, if you do write with a pen, a fountain pen is so much easier to use for flow. A cartridge loaded one is clean. And you can buy very nice pens really cheaply now too. A few dollars.
I had routine when out and about and a job to go to cookie. So can both completely emphasise. But also realise things have now changed. Now retired, certain stuff has to be done and dusted with aspects to housework. But in general now, it has become that I live mostly a hermit existence. And no longer seek routine for its own sake. Took years to remove myself from that discipline. I can imagine a young mind like yours is super active in both mind and social activities. Youth is the time to grab life and give it all you have. Thank you for your reflective reply. Very cool too. Cheers cookie.

Gray, I’m not sure if I should say “WOW so many options I would not know where to begin” or say “WOW I will never get to sleep tonight, way to many wonderful things to get into” Lots of inspiration.

Cheers Danny. It’s a holistic project this music one. But it is very simple in reality. The writing, film work, photography, etc. is a way to create a Frail Autumn package. Even an old vintage typewriter for typing American style vintage script like the poets and authors used back when. Inspiration back at you Danny. You are also giving me ideas too. All the best.
