MOVING TO THE RHYTHM OF LIFE
Or
MOVE INTO THE RHYTHM OF LIFE.
This started with searching through synthesiser’s tracks. Got that weird undercurrent, played it in Am, Dm, C and E notes and then layered a drum pattern onto it.
Picked up the Vintage SG electric guitar and played 3 different chord/riff type patterns. I’m not skilled at 6 string electric level at all. Added my Fender Jazz Bass to that. Loved just feeling relaxed and playing Bass guitar. No struggles really as it’s what I play. Then picked up keyboard choices and layered and layered. Yup! Back to struggling again. Finally sang the vocals and a bit of ‘harmony’! Questionable. But………
It was a great bit of fun. A decent way to gather more knowledge about GarageBand capabilities. Now I understand the top bar ‘View’ option to change drum patterns and make hitting bum notes on keyboard chords a lot easier to remove. I can go into the chord template and delete little blips. The Akai keyboard is quite narrow and sensitive. So the slightest hit on a piano key peg next to one within the chord I play will produce a little note noise. You can see it and delete it.
These are great ways to just jump in, try a few things and take the rough with the smooth. No levelling out here. Just letting it all come at you. Mixing sound is going to be much further down the line. And again, repeating that old worn out ideal of mine……. Real musicians are what matters most in this project.
Anyways. It was a pleasant morning of experimentation. And a little more knowledge gleaned.
Move into the Rhythm of Life or Moving to the Rhythm of Life?
Are you already there? Or waiting to arrive?
I don’t know why
I’m living in a sea of heartache.
I should be high
Living up and having a party.
But oh no! Not me.
Oh no! Can’t you see.
Chorus:
Moving to the rhythm of life,
Caught in the passage of time
Moving all the way to a better place
I can call mine.
I’m lost in the rhythm called love
It’s something I can call my own
I found my way to that perfect place
I call it Home.
Call your name
Down through the winds of sorrows
Call out loud
Until I can’t face any tomorrow’s.
Oh no, not me
Oh no, can’t you see.
And so the story goes
To where? No one knows
Borne out of promises
Not worn out wishes…….
This was going to be a narrated outro bit: But I decided to sing my Blogsite Mantra….and so the story goes.
It’s a mystery unseen
Hides away in dreams and fantasies.
A history that never mattered much at all.
It’s standing there in the pale moonlight.
Hides away from the daylight.
