#The VeeDub Bus

The VeeDub Bus is Alive AND Breathing.

The VeeDub is back, with a new engine, and is raring to go. She is alive AND breathing. It has been through many periods of ‘Strip, Repair, Renovate’ over the last 7 years by the VeeDub Guru known as Paul. The Bus known as ‘Billie Bud’ recently needed, as said, a new engine. Now built and fitted by Paul it will take the Grandchildren, who are staying for a few weeks and more, out and about to the local beauty spots. Beach, rivers, woodland await.

On this short blog I am letting the images show the story. Decision was to be positive. So? Focused on the ‘After’ work done by Paul. Not the before in her bad state. There are lots of photographs on the main VeeDub Bus site on this blog site of mine regarding the VeeDub Bus in the repair stages if you are interested in the progress of renovation.

Shiny stainless steel exhaust. Stock ones go rusty after a year where sea and sand are constant companions. This choice above is long term. Buy once, Cry once.

Anyways. Here are some of the ones that make me smile.

    1. Hi Ianto. Picked her up yesterday. Paul pulled out all the stops to get her finished. Angie working today so they have all just caught the bus to Machynlleth. Can’t fit all into the VeeDub. Needs the car and the Dub. Will get to meet up soon. Xx

    1. Thanks Brenda. Be good to get back out again. It’s been quite a long time of not using her. Not good with a 51 year old vehicle who was used to be driven daily when I was a nurse. Probably sulking. 😊 All the best.

      4. I am. They’re here until the 29th I believe. My daughter and fiancé are going to London for a short break. Then my daughter is getting prepared for her new Teaching Assistant role. Could lead to more opportunities too. Her Stage 2 British Sign Language should be of benefit. I taught her Sign Language when I was a tutor some years back at the Further Education College. She lived here and even though she was 16, I could include her within the courses. I think some English primary schools may be considering it for inclusion within the school curriculum. Not sure of Scotland or Wales. Cheers Brenda.

      1. You know it! Ha! My dad built a dune buggy (actually, a few of them), when I was a child. Neighbors loved them too! They asked if I had any pictures of the purple one (40 years later)! Sadly, I haven’t come upon any photos of it yet.
        I love all your pictures. This is sooo sweet and I love you will introduce it to your grands.

    1. Pop in if you ever pass again and have time to. Give me some advice on the garden. 😊 Angie at yoga and no chance today to get out in the bus. Also. There is suddenly a kitten in the mix. Been brought up to Wales from Worcester out of the blue! So it’s changed the ball game re: grandkids and how to plan activities when I have them on my own. Ah well! The VeeDub is a saviour it seems. But can’t take a kitten outdoors. Yes! The VeeDub rocks. It’s great to be able to jump in and chill. Even if it’s not going anywhere. Xx

    1. Hazzah indeed. A treasure and a very nice bloke too. I’ve been through a few stock exhausts really. They rust in the blink of an eye. So, as said, a bit expensive but worthwhile. Some fire pit nights under the stars ahead hopefully. Wake up in the morning to the dew. Priceless. Hope your own camping experiences create great memories too. Cheers Danny.
