    1. Thanks cookie. ‘Satisfied’ was written and put together so fast back in 1979. Just happened to be ‘one of those instants’. I had just heard Robert Palmer’s song ‘Jealous’ and felt inspired to write a similar vibe.

The hardware? My brother bought Levi jacket and jeans when we were teenagers. Me? I’d bought Brutus because they were cheaper. His lasted years on years. I think mine were over and done in about 12 months. He said to me, ‘Buy once and cry once’ (BOCO). He had a great job and wage as an engineer at the time. I was on £10 a week wages. My wife on £5 a week as a hairdresser. We lived in a flat costing £15 a week rent. So we struggled on her hairdressing tips off customers. Hence my love of buying second hand stuff and vintage. I looked for refurbs, second hand stuff for a few months re: recording equipment. But wanted it to be reliable. One last hurrah re: getting the songs that exist in my head and played on acoustic properly done and dusted as a band. So this new Apple hardware is a reliable BOCO buy. Cheers for your amazing feedback as ever cookie. Much appreciated.

      1. It will be a bit of a leap of faith into uncharted territory re: technology learning for myself. I rang Steve, by guitarist brother, last night. He has already been experimenting with layering a GarageBand inherent drum rhythm (Kyle!) and recorded a few of his own different guitar riffs and layered them on top of each other onto his iPad. Far more clued up than me technology wise…thank the stars! So we will be learning and influencing outcomes together. Cheers cookie.

    1. Not quite to your and Richard’s level prolifically. But it will be nice to get these ideas down onto a system for prosperity Sheila. As said to cookie, ‘one last hurrah’. Back to musical roots after so many career choices in life. So hopefully a few years of writing music and playing alongside others too.

Not long until you move now is it. Very exciting. Thank you Sheila for your feedback. Brilliant.

      1. Ah, Richard wrote a good many songs before he met me, Gray. And he wrote several a year after we met (20+ years ago). So, we think you’re doing great!
I totally understand and hear you about ’many career choices.’ I have worked many different roles in my life too! Now, I feel like I am a Promoter! Ha!

      2. I have written a fair few more than this list. But no where near Richard’s catalogue of songs. Career choices sprang out at me when in social arena of support. The arts are my true love. Ah well…..we find our life balance eventually. Our own personal Nirvana. No matter what decade it happens in our life. Comfort and calmness, I must say, has a massive presence at the moment. Cheers Sheila. New horizons for you soon. Brilliant.

      3. Yes, but to work on 22 songs at once is a real project, Gray. You are certainly focused! We want to commend you on that.
Ah, the life balance. Yes, I know what you mean. Almost done packing here. On the road trip in a few days. Comfort and calm are top priorities as we navigate things. Cheers back to you, Gray! Life is a highway. Ha!

      4. I suppose it was always the case re: song writing back in the 1979s. We just seemed to get half a dozen or more songs a week and drop them if they were dodgy. Sometimes two or three ideas find themselves in to one song too. But this list here has a fair few months of dropping in and out of these titles. The hardest part is choosing electric style from my acoustic warblings. I reckon a drum track off the app will be put down first and then layer over the top of that. Or a metronome beat. Take the drums away once done. Then John can put his own style to a song without influence and be recorded. Steve, my brother, did this the other night on his GarageBand set up. Drum beat off the app and then he recorded two overdubs with playing his guitar. So, from little acorns………. 🤞🏼

Good luck with your move Sheila.

    1. Cheers Destiny. Be nice to re-record it again. It probably won’t have that naive punk energy we captured. But it’ll be fun playing it in a new rock and roll light. Hope you are resting nicely. All the best Destiny. 🙏🏽

      1. Your own artistic skills and philosophy are very much admired by myself. Amazing. I dabbled in my ceramic pottery and film black and white photography periods. But blogging, gardening and revisiting music now are little treasures in retired life. Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

    1. I like it. I can’t sing it like that now though. It used to really get the crowd moving. It has one of those easy to dance to vibes. Albeit crazily! It was the opening song on gigs. Cheers Sheila.

    1. Thank you Pascal. Glad you liked the song. Dave, our former XCerts guitarist on Satisfied, re-recorded the song last year and put it on YouTube. His version is a little different to the original, but has received over 2,500 views. I sang the original as on this blog. Dave obviously sings his new YouTube version. When we played Satisfied back in the 1970s, it was always well received. I loaded it onto MySpace in the early 2000 years with three other songs. The feedback on Satisfied particularly was really positive. Many saying it should be released as a single. It was intended to be released with another song called Feeling in the Groove.

But….At that time we were struggling. We were tied in with management who were useless. So that is why Kev, my brother the drummer, simply left. We heard that some record companies were offering to sign us. But they were kept at arm’s length. Very frustrating. Be nice to be simply on our own now. We are currently: My other brother Steve on guitar; John, a drummer I played in a band with back in the early 1980s; and myself. To get focused on home recording some new (and old) songs with the new Apple equipment will be a nice project. Should be fun. Cheers Pascal.
