What does it feel like when trying to write a song?
Some days
Seem to last a million years.
And then?
Sudden ensuing calmness envelops.
Goodbye to fears
Of failure.
The jigsaw is complete.
Inspiration developed
Amongst the seriousness
Of dedication.
Concentration.
Seeking the inner creation.
Suddenly! Awaken.
Application?
In a single moment
Waves goodbye,
As faerie dusted happenstance
Comes by,
Stops,
And says ‘Hi!’
Lyrics and melody
Finally meet. Connection.
No more corrections.
They take each other’s hands
And naturally and simply
Begin to dance.
In that familiar rhythm.
Of twinned perfection.
Complete.
The dream-song has avoided
The bitterness
Of defeat.
Contentment and tears.
Spill.
No longer the clown.
But the tunesmith
Who has found
A new song.
Turned it around.
To be repeatedly played?
Does it now belong?
Oh Yes! Certainly.
For many future years?
Maybe, with fingers crossed,
And if a whispered prayer decides
To catch a ride on a wing on high.
Then….For eternity.

Now you just need to put it to music

That would be difficult Brenda. A melody/tune would be all over the place rhythmically. Mind you….I could do a William Shatner and chat the lines over gentle music backdrop. 😊 Hope you are keeping well. All the best.

I’m writing some new songs Brenda. Found a recording studio in the locality. Will be recording an album early next year. We now have my brother Steve on guitar for the live gigs next year. That will create a really full sound. Pleased you are still finding inspiration even though your work/life balance is so hectic. Would miss a nice sit down and read Brenda post whilst drinking a hot espresso. And a ginger biscuit. Or three. 😊🙏🏽

Ginger snaps?
I’ve got loads of ideas, drafts and bits of paper everywhere. Just need to find the time to sit down and write.

There are Brandy Snaps for Christmas. And Anna’s thin ginger snaps for the rest of the year. Ginger is good for digestion I believe. Fave biscuits in whatever form.

I love ginger in everything and anything I can put it in. I think that’s why I enjoy cooking chinese recipes
I also discovered a spiced ginger tea which is lovely

I don’t cook much Chinese food. More curries. As you say….tea. Love ginger chai. Also those gin-gins soft and hard pastille sweets too. They can be very strong though. The soft ones stick to your teeth too. Scary if you have fillings! 😳

Lol. I am more wary with soft centres with my teeth/fillings. I love toffees … but broke a tooth on a strawberry cream. And another time, on a slice of bread … but never had a problem with rock hard toffee 😁
