I often speak of my VeeDub here on the blog site and my older blog written and photographic presentations held a romantic vision of visiting local places. The beach, dunes, hillsides, riversides, lakesides, forestry with little park ups and walk about stories.
In comments and replies yesterday, a blogging friend sent a link after reading my Ynyslas Dunes mention in the developing conversational story. It was a lovely shock of ‘changed viewpoints’ of where we live. Seeing our local beach/dunes/little town of Aberdovey over the bay from the air. It has gentle music attached and the watching experience took me on more video uploads explorations from other drone enthusiasts who captured our local area. Such a wonderful hour spent watching this imagery.
The area of this drone flight in the below link is Borth. We can see Borth in the near distance from our upstairs windows. As I type this ‘Blog from The Den’, I can walk into a different room and see the distant houses. We are about a 10 to 15 minute drive away. So we can easily find solace of sea air anytime we need it. At the back of our house lay hills and forestry. So greenery choice is also available. At the back of the village a few miles down the road is an opportunity to take a side road towards Nant y Moch and the huge lakes created by wonderfully built dams. To the front of the house open fields, peat bog wetlands, the Ynyslas dunes and then the beautiful open sea.

Whilst I was browsing I saw this one for my blogging friend who sent me that first journey of fascinating sky drone capabilities of capturing our local area. So… https://sheilamurrey.net/ I thought you would be interested in this one below from a project on the Ynyslas Dune Sands below. Very much worth a visit to Sheila’s blog site in the above link.

That’s brilliant. Fantastic artwork creations. And you’re aware of more of the Welsh coastline beach and cove sands too. One cove near us has an old uninhabited monastery on it. They say that people have witnessed a line of ghostly monks walking, happens once a year, on a path from the cove and upwards towards an inland coastal pathway. Cheers Sheila.

A line of ghostly monks, eh? Well that’s intriguing, Gray!

Very intriguing. A few locals have said the story. Fewer have witnessed it.

Thank you cookie. It has been the place to belong to for a long time in our lives. We first visited here when we were 18 years old for regular holidays. So 50 years ago. We finally got to move here 30 years ago. As you say, a very joyful place to exist. All the best.

It has been a fantastic move to go from City to Village Brenda. 30 years have been ideal. The children, now in their mid/late thirties, say they loved their childhood experiences here. Thank you Brenda.

I can imagine the experiences are very different – from living on the coast as a child to moving to the city in adult live has been different too. Hubby likes city living and I agree it has some benefits, but I’d also love a house somewhere quieter too. I’d always had the impression that you moved there after the children left home, but i’m glad they had that environment to grow up in.

Rural life is very different obviously. First arriving is extremely impactful re: the difference. Stress falls from you. After a few years normality continues if you are in work. If retired you do have a gentler lifestyle. Cheers Brenda.
