SUMMERS IN THE THIRD PERSON….
TONIGHT, THIS LESS THAN SLEEPYHEAD SUMMERS GUY (That’ll be me then…) WAS SCROLLING THROUGH THE DOZENS ON DOZENS OF BLOG POSTS THAT HAVE BEEN MOVED FROM PAST ‘PUBLISHED’ STATUS INTO ‘DRAFT’ STATUS. SO HE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO BRING THIS BACK OUT INTO THE OPEN AGAIN. WELL….IT DOES SAY …..
‘And somewhere down the road, if you meet yourself coming back, don’t stop yourself…to ask yourself’
“What lies ahead ?”
So…….What would Summers’ past self think if he did know how this ‘almost two years ago since it was first published’ blog subject has developed…because he could of asked the question, when meeting himself coming back, “What lies ahead?” And upon being given the answers, he would of course know his future. Would he have started the new music recording project knowing the complexities?
Of course he would. He loves a challenge.
THE ORIGINAL BLOG BELOW……..
JOURNEY OF THE HEART.
DESTINATION? UNKNOWN.
LIFE’S JOURNEY.
DESTINATION? UNKNOWN.
Wherever,
Whatever you choose.
Choose to follow your heart.
Go write a life song
Where you will never forget
The words,
The tune,
The chords,
Or the beat.
After all, you were,
Still are,
The essential part.
Mind switch the inner symphony
To ‘On’.
Let it load up
And dance to your self written
Life’s rhythm.
Sing it to the sky
All arms akimbo.
Escape the prison
Of night.
Create a fine prism
Of rainbow light.
And somewhere down the road
If you meet yourself coming back
Don’t stop yourself
To ask yourself
‘What lies ahead?’
The excitement is in
Simply not knowing.
Heading for a new you.
Glowing.
Destination?
Unknown.
SEE ALSO: I HAVE REVISITED BEFORE. MAYBE I’M TRYING TO TELL MYSELF SOMETHING, ON A PERIODICAL BASIS, IN ORDER TO KEEP POSITIVE.
Thanks Gray, really enjoyed this.
“If you meet yourself coming back
Don’t stop yourself….”
I think I’d probably find somewhere to hide in anticipation of a telling-off!!!
Hope you’re having a good weekend xxx

I reckon the opposite. You would tell yourself ‘Job well done’. And go on to brilliantly sing new songs still. The weekend has been nice with Angie having a few days off. Finished filling the raised bed with the combination soils now. All ready for planting…….radishes. 😊 Xx

Well done. I’ve achieved….nothing so far this weekend! Off to Anglesey for lunch with my mum today. Always worth the trip!

It’s good to spend time in non achieving. I love life balance. 😊 Looks like decent weather fir a trip to Anglesey. Keep thinking of going back to the Llyn Peninsula to see it properly. Last time, Covid was pretty impactful still. We had that small window of allowance! Love Bala too. Be good to see your Mum. Mums are always great at giving you a massive lift. Xx

I thought you were giving us a writing prompt Gray. I could certainly relate to a few of the words … going off and exploring but im also looking at some old discs from 2006 of photos from France and wondering if I could write nostalgically rather than/as well as making return visits 😁

Nah! Pretend you can’t write retrospectively and go visit again. Seriously though. I can imagine you have no problem writing in nostalgic fashion. Your podcast reflections were confidently spoken about. You could do a comparison study and have a new adventure too. I can’t do writing prompts. So would definitely make a hash of promoting one. 😊 All the best.

I like the before and after idea … plus I still found I didn’t have enough photos of Stirling Castle, so I suspect when I look at my photos, I’ll find I want/need more.
Working yesterday on the Stirling Castle Post I remember going there on a school trip.im sure I have a photo of me standing in front of Robert the Bruce (but might have been at Bannockburn) when I was 11 or 12. That would have made an interesting comparison.

Comparisons were always a fascination after I heard David Cassidy singing ‘You can’t go home again’ on an album that has great songs, tunes and lyrics. About thinking places do not change from your memories of them. I found an old photo too. It was what prompted reminiscing. Cheers Brenda.

Thank you cookie. Imagine if we could both stand outside ourselves looking on at our live’s story over past years again. Placed in those times, by some ethereal force, where we observe only the positives. Imagine how stronger it would make us feel in carrying on to brighter and lighter days knowing what we were and still are capable of.
You yourself cookie and I, and others too, can either write ‘forever’ poems/lyrics/stories or sing melodies to self written songs and so have something to hold in our hands to read or play for our ears to listen to to give concrete evidence that we can achieve. And also provide witness to our actions in life to bring positivity to others that show we actually matter at times.
Aphantasia doesn’t give me any opportunity at all to go back and see, in my mind’s eye, what life was all about. Only the ‘factual’ memories that they actually did happen. Maybe those factual memories become enhanced because they are how I would love to remember them happening in those ways. Nothing wrong with polishing your memories that little bit brighter though. That also makes us stronger.
It would be nice to be standing as an outsider and witnessing myself in those positive times. Bouncing up and down on a stage, singing and playing guitar with an emotional buzz and seeing a crowd jumping up and down dancing and singing back. There are a million little scenarios to capture over both our, and others’, lives cookie. So many they would possibly make our mind’s explode in rapture.
Cheers and all the best.
