Video updates for future project.

Love these little travel phrases. May use them for bouncing up some lyrics.

The other day, Angie and myself took Frankie the Fella (Bengal/Maine Coon cross breed cat) to the sand dunes. Parking up on the Aberdovey estuary in the VeeDub, Billie Cloud 9, the opportunity was ripe to see how it could work in the future if involving him when out and about would work when recording some music. We didn’t have a moment of relaxation. He, of course, is full blown active cat. Never relaxes and settles down. At home it is the same. Every 10 minutes has a ‘cat has a constant intervention need’ written all over the situation…..

Disentanglement, indoor yowling to get outdoors, wanting outdoors continually, scampering manically around the house because he is bored, etc. He doesn’t play feather or toy mouse on a stick games. Beneath his hunting remit. He even leaves half his bowl of food to scatter back at the front door to get out again. Long story short…….I can’t see any recording of my songs in the VeeDub Bus for YouTube uploading ever happening if he is present. The truth is that has never been really realistic at home. So…Why any different out in the open air where there are far more distractions for an inquisitive cat.

This morning, it was nice to see how easy it would be to upload a video to YouTube. Choosing the introductory piece that I want to start all the VeeDub Cloud 9 captures on, it was surprisingly easy. Uploaded from iMovie at a decent High Resolution and sound level, it took 15 minutes to upload. With our rural internet speed at ‘1 to 2’ involving buffering at times, that was quick. We have started the fibre system process now. The external lines are now fitted. Beginning of October, the engineers are calling to do all the internal set up. Speeds of 100 have been promised.

Anyways. After the introductory video of ‘And so the story goes….’, two more were uploaded for fun. It will be great to see a capture of the (hopefully) effervescent VeeDub Cloud 9 project though. For people to witness this wonderful rural environment here on the Mid Wales coastline.

I have to remember. Where there is a will…..there is always a way.

  1. Gray, I was thinking. maybe Frankie the Fella could be in the band, adding some scratching, you know, like a DJ. he’s probably already shown his turntable skills on the walls, the floors, and your coffee table. anyway, it’s really cool to see Frail Autumn coming together. like you said, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

    1. Cheers cookie. Yowling more than scratching is more Frankie. It would be great to believe Frankie will settle down at some point. But he just can’t. He hasn’t scratched anything in the house at all really as we bought some scratch poles to put around the house. But, it has been full on tiring for about 11 months now and has been becoming a Twilight Zone of no escape for a very long time.

What I would love to do is simply let him roam freely. But we have a busy road close by (a number of village cats have been hit and died on this road), the fact he is a Bengal/Maine Coon cross breed (and therefore desirable enough to get stolen) and he is a gentle giant that approaches anyone. So no fear factors of being picked up and taken.

I have set up the MV88 microphone on the iPad and housed onto a small strong and heavy bass drum microphone stand. So can simply place it in any location for outdoor recordings. Got a nice bohemian vibe going too. Muslin drapes for outside attached over an awning canopy, triangular shaped flag banners, fairie type lights, Moroccan glass lanterns for tea-light candles, directors chairs, old suitcase for drinks coffee table, ethnic rugs, etc.. to create a vibe. Nights under stars, logs burning in a brazier and a bit of music.

Hopefully with some decent little scenario results to be caught on film. Fingers crossed. Yes….’Where’s there’s a will, there’s a way’. Spot on.

Cheers cookie. All the best. 💫
