Slowly Getting to Grips with this….

Photo from WordPress library.

The recording of the intentional outdoor VeeDub Bus captures has been slightly delayed as my wife, Angie, has caught one of the dreaded bugs that seem to be hitting all and sundry over the last year. She has been off a week. Going back into work today.

Yesterday, I fired up the Mac computer system again and it was a really strange experience relearning all the technical techniques again. It has been months on months on, yes, more months of not using the Mac M2 set up. Weird is a word that suits the revisit. Took a while to sort out confidence again. No visual imagination with the Aphantasia condition I have means I do not recognise, visually, what I used to do. And a large screen monitor stuck in front of your moniker is pretty visual.

I tweaked the mix a tiny bit on this one below. What is really lovely, is that I can send high quality music files to YouTube for uploads. So the song’s sound you hear is rather like what I hear through my headphones and speakers here in The Den.

So if you have the opportunity to listen on headphones or through fairly robust speakers yourselves, you will hopefully get my drift.

As I always say in my YouTube description part, I play all the instruments apart from the drums. The drums are in the GarageBand library choices. I add them to a track and tweak the drum edit buttons to fit the song’s purpose.

I bought the Yamaha DD65 electronic drum kit. But new MIDI lead choices wouldn’t work on the Apple system. And the original Yamaha MIDI lead connector are like rocking horse number 2’s to find. However, I have managed to find and buy an original secondhand stock MIDI 5 pin adapter off eBay that can now be connected to both the M2 computer or the Tascam Model 12 mixing desk. So I can add some drums myself now.

Wish I could play like my brother Kev used to.

Below is my YouTube latest. Showing The Den to the new YT people out there.

Cheers.

    1. Thanks Brenda. It is good to be able to focus on this. To find new dynamics. Rather like yourself and your new site theme. You have refocused and produced a great dynamic. Listeners and views on YouTube are always in the lap of the God’s aren’t they. But it is just great to have a place you can use to cement down ideas. Bandcamp for getting music on to a listening platform has been set up too. So, as said, ‘let’s see where this goes’.

If, no…..when (more positive!), I get to grips with recording songs alongside others locally out there and have some conversations, it will be more interesting for YT viewers. Especially if you get someone with a great vibe about them.

All the best Brenda and cheers.

    1. Don’t worry about creating a channel Destiny. I have had a YouTube channel for about 10 years. Not for uploads until now. Just so I can surf all the different channels. If you want some information for fixing something for example, it usually has someone with the answer. Lots of great advice on there. There is no cost to joining YouTube at all. A bit like no cost involved for Twitter/X, Pinterest, Facebook etc.

The Den is nice when the four ambient lights are on in the evening. You can really chill and relax in there. Wasn’t so friendly when nurse ongoing training happened in there. Very drab. So I used to go out in the VeeDub to read the medical books and write ideas down for essays. The beach/dunes were my favourite spots. 🙏🏽 Destiny.
