Late last night a Harvest Moon was shining brightly. It was a great opportunity to recharge the Hermiker Diamond by allowing the Moon’s ethereal light to be soaked up by this amazing crystal.

Because I wanted to add only keyboard extras onto the YEAR ONE song below, and whilst using headphones to record new simple melodies, no noise came from The Den other than the tip tap tapping on the AKAI MIDI keyboard. It was getting on for 01.00 after all. Angie was sleeping and had a very busy stock take ahead in her shop. These yearly stock takes take a fair few days and Sunday, when the shop is closed, pulls all the final counting and figures to a conclusion.

After the ‘silent’ additions, it was a case of silencing every single track recorded and switching each track, one by one, back into the headphones in order to balance instrumental and vocal volume levels. It can take quite a while back and forth. But there comes a moment when you just have to say to yourself ‘Stop! It’s fine now’.

Keyboard choices to add were Fairy Bells and Modern Mystic Bowl. I wanted an ethereal, but bright little Will-o’-the-Wisp type vibe.

Here below is the newer Year One. Also, for my blogging friend Destiny, an amazing poet, is a photograph of the Hermiker as requested.

When Destiny saw the Hermiker crystal photographs and the Harvest Moon photograph below, she wrote me a poem.

clouded skies exhale

The iPad camera isn’t the greatest for this type of thing. But, it’s pretty cute giving me this vibe nonetheless.

    1. Thanks Victor. My dream situation is to have a producer and a sound engineer I can really trust. My skills in this are terrible. So I have to tell myself Stop, because I cannot simply, within the skills limits I have, go any further to improve it all.

      I just like the songwriting side to it all. That said, it would be nice to get a couple of musicians on board too. At 70 years old? Not many are around to link up with an old one like myself ! 😄

    1. I’m so pleased that you found time. Really appreciated. I can understand how difficult it can be to get around our blogging community. The uploads from others can come fast and furious at times 😊 So it is difficult to read everything when we have lives to lead too.

      1. You’re right. Now, during the holidays I’m trying to be even more busy with creativity and doing. Not easy to stay in touch with other artists. Finally we are here with the goal to share our stuff. And some artists succeed to stay unconnected from their followers and silent in the comments. 😉

      2. Good that you are finding artistic inspiration. You can produce some fine work in these times of total focus. Excuse the pun. 😊. Holidays with no work distractions were always relax and turn off situations for myself. Long day shift patterns were a great choice as a nurse because I worked three days a week with 13 hours shifts. However, the reality of those shifts were longer than 13 hours. And very stressful. We often found we stayed over that time. Never paid though.

        This shift pattern choice allowed time in each week to create in some artistic or cooking activities. Never music though. Only in retirement has that begun again with intent.

        Yes you are spot on. I do see others that never respond at all. They write content and simply stay out of connecting other than the initial upload we read. They do fall by the wayside in my own interest in them. Only a few with extremely insightful thoughts are read long term. But even that can get a bit disinteresting after a while. Especially when they write many times a week. My philosophy is to stay happy with a small core of people, friends, who are kind. And have similar interests. And their exchanges contain positivity in therapeutic values. I could easily count them on the fingers of my two hands.

      2. Cheers for that. It is a nice distraction from the WP site. Hopefully it will be nice to expand the YT visuals by using my Volkswagen ‘VeeDub’ 1972 Bay Bus to record and film song captures in. Out on the beach or lakeside somewhere. All the best Victor.

    1. Cheers Brenda. It’s nice now picking up on new gentler songs that are awaiting recording. Tomorrow I will start a new song called ‘Today’. May use acoustic with a cafe percussion type beat. Then layer a gentle swirling electric guitar over the top. So it should be a nice gentle week musically. Fingers crossed.

      The Hermiker crystal was a gift to Angie a few years back. Very generous gift too. I’m not a crystal kind of guy. But if they are powerful entities with positive properties? Then yes, let them work their magic.

      Angie used to have crystal healing back in the 1970s. When we were living above a Wholefood Shop back then, she gave up as a hairdresser and began working in the downstairs shop. We used to meet many fascinating people. And with my pottery subject matter of mystical type characters, we met even more ‘out there’ characters. I used to make my pottery in the flat’s kitchen upstairs. Kind of a ‘make the best of what you have as life goes along’ type lifestyle. It was a very Bohemian life back then.

      Angie said they used to dowse her with the crystal when she was having a massage. The crystal was chosen especially for her personally. We still have that original crystal from those days hanging in the dreamcatcher in the VeeDub Bus. As said, I have no clue to what it all means. But I do know that life was so wonderfully different back then. Gentle times.

    1. So good you wrote this poem. Can I put it onto this blog Destiny?

      The photo of the crystal was after being bathed in the overnight moonlight. It would be best outside next time. Direct light instead of through a window. If outside? Crossed fingers a passing ghostly presence doesn’t take it overnight and it disappears to a next dimension. 😊

      I have now put the Year One song as one version in both blogs. I have just finished changing sounds on it. I listened on decent headphones and one of the keyboard melodies was harsh and ‘growling’. Very werewolf sounding and after last night’s immense moon …… rather spooky.

      That notebook is my song lyrics captures currently. I covered a lovely Semicolon Leuchtterm notebook in posters, stickers and washi tape. It has a nice vibe now. The lyrics are all the current songs and I have hand written them down.

      As it stated here Destiny, the iPad camera is pretty bleak, but in this case it seemed quite fortunate in its poor quality imagery when considering the scene captured. So, yes, it does have a painterly feel.

      If you agree, I will put the poem under my mentioning your request for a photo of the crystal.

      2. Thanks about the poetry. I’ll sort it now. Of course you can use the image. It was a quick snapshot and actually looked like it does on the iPad screen. So I knew it wasn’t a clear and clean image. But it has a nice vibe.

        I get spooked in the outside dark. If a ghostly presence showed up? I’d be off in a flash! 👻
